Mid-market company excels in innovation competition / Award ceremony with Ranga Yogeshwar to follow in June in Mainz
Munich/Oberhaching — For the eighth consecutive time, attempto has been honored with the TOP 100 Award. The prize is awarded to mid-market companies for their outstanding innovation qualities. attempto excelled in size category B (51 to 200 employees) through its deeply embedded innovation management, close collaboration across all departments in the innovation process, flat hierarchies, and a particular focus on sustainability.
The TOP 100 Award is granted based on a scientific selection process led by innovation researcher Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke. Commissioned by compamedia, the organizer of the competition, he and his team analyzed the innovation strength of participating companies using more than 100 assessment criteria across five categories: Innovation-Promoting Top Management, Innovation Climate, Innovative Processes and Organization, External Orientation/Open Innovation, and Innovation Success.
A key question in this process is whether innovations result from a structured innovation management approach within the companies or are merely coincidental occurrences. Franke explains: “Innovation means acting rather than reacting; it means actively shaping the future instead of hoping that nothing changes.”
attempto has been a reliable partner for banks, insurance companies, industry, retail, and the automotive sector in implementing complex IT projects for nearly 20 years. The management consultancy’s core portfolio encompasses customized software development and IT consulting. Its expertise extends beyond purely technical consulting for the introduction, development, and maintenance of software and IT systems to also include implementation such as software solution development and maintenance.
Since its founding, innovation has been deeply embedded in the company’s DNA. attempto continuously engages with the most important trends and developments in the industry to be a valuable partner for its clients. The attempto Lab is the company’s in-house institution for trend scouting and prototyping. The attempto Innovation Manufactory facilitates exchange and cooperation within its own network. In product development, attempto turns innovative ideas into reality and has developed award-winning solutions. Most recently, the business model was significantly advanced through the development of the tool “Profilery.” Profilery addresses the need for scalable and rapidly adaptable systems and processes for market conditions, solving a widespread problem in the consulting industry: finding and offering precisely matching consultant profiles.
Furthermore, attempto works to make its clients’ business models more economical and, in particular, future-proof through the use of AI components. For Managing Director Franz Berno Breitruck, focusing on client needs is also of central importance in the area of innovation: “We continuously engage with the most important developments and rely on the capabilities of our employees to identify potential innovations early and integrate them into our portfolio. This is how we are and remain a valuable partner for our clients.”
To ensure equal opportunities for all participants, the TOP 100 seal is always awarded in three size categories: up to 50, 51 to 200, and more than 200 employees. In the current round — TOP 100 has been running for 32 years — 364 mid-market companies applied. Of these, 262 were successful and have carried the TOP 100 seal 2025 since February 1. A maximum of 100 companies per size category can be recognized.
On June 27, all Top Innovators of 2025 will come together in Mainz for the award ceremony at the German Mid-Market Summit. There, science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar will personally congratulate them on their success at TOP 100.
