aim Event "At Night in the Open Ocean – Lessons on Mental Strength, Resilience, and Crisis Management in Extreme Situations"

21/05/2024

Our attempto Innovations-Manufaktur (aim) regularly hosts exclusive events for managers, decision-makers, and executives under the motto “What Matters Tomorrow – Learning from the Best.” In these events, we look beyond our own horizons, explore current trends, and invite leading experts to share their insights with the attempto network.

In May, we had the pleasure of welcoming André Wiersig (extreme swimmer and ocean ambassador) at attempto with a presentation on the topic “At Night in the Open Ocean – Lessons on Mental Strength, Resilience, and Crisis Management in Extreme Situations.” In his fascinating keynote, he took us into one of the wildest and most endangered habitats on Earth: the open sea.

As the first German to accomplish the feat, André Wiersig successfully swam across the seven most famous straits in the world – the “Ocean’s Seven.” In his presentation, he explained how to prepare for such ventures, what to do when caught in a current, and how best to react when encountering a shark. In his accounts, he also drew compelling parallels to everyday professional life.

Together with the invited representatives of our partner companies and our network, we sincerely thank André Wiersig for this inspiring insight and the enriching discussions! In challenging situations, we will certainly look back on one anecdote or another and are very much looking forward to the next aim events. Furthermore, we will stay in touch with André and support his Blue Heart initiative for the preservation of the world’s oceans.
